I appreciate how you acknowledge the paradox of extending compassion even toward those drawn to authoritarian ideologies. It’s a tough moral stance, but as you suggest, it’s essential for breaking the cycle of fear and division.

These factors define true revolutionaries, too. The fanatical dedication to the cult leader is like theose who followed ideologies like Bolshevism.

A good example is trump’s relationship with musk. It’s extreme love to hate, and this is what all MAGA is going to find out. The sane way hitler supporters did, who then had to resort to drugs to have a motivation to fight.

I find it ironic that the far left, who self-assert to be empathetic, kind and tolerant, often appear to be the opposite, intolerant, divisive and even violent, behaving in authoritarian ways, while calling anyone not of their ideology fascist. Of course the far right also have those those characteristics. So fascism seems to be a condition of being extreme in an ideological way. I dont see how how love is the the opposite of any of that.
